We are now well into the golfing season as summer finally emerges. The seniors friendly matches are progressing very well and we had an absolutely superb Invitation Day last month. On that occasion, the highlight was undoubtedly the condition of the course following some diligent and, at times, downright hard work by our Greens Staff. This was endorsed by many of the visitors who came as guests on the day. The food provided by Darren our excellent chef on these occasions is rated very highly by members and visitors alike. “The best we have had anywhere” is a well worn phrase. (You have to try it to believe it.)

Our next “Major” is the Seniors Open, scheduled for Thursday, July 9th. We already have a record number of entries (99 pairs at the time of writing). The event provides some of the most valuable prizes awarded anywhere in the country for a seniors event. Sponsorship this year has been very strong and we are extremely grateful for this support. Finally, the next step is to ensure that the event runs smoothly and everyone has a very enjoyable day with an opportunity to score well. I have no doubt that the course will be prepared to its usual very high standard; let’s hope the weather plays its part.!! Gook Luck to all entrants.
